While we’re in the Bob Marshall Wilderness on our first trip of the summer, we want to share more about our pack trips and the all-inclusive aspect of an adventure in the heart of Montana. When it comes to an experience that combines untouched wilderness, Montana’s backcountry, epic views, horseback trail rides and an unfiltered look at a star-filled night sky, we invite you to come on a pack trip with us into White River.
The first thing to note: our trips are all-inclusive. This means that once we pick you up for our drive into Benchmark and day one of your weeklong pack trip, everything is covered. Your trip includes accommodations, meals, horseback trail rides and hiking opportunities. (There is a list of gear you need to bring; you can find that here; you can also BYOB.)
One of the elements that sets us apart is our horses. We have a highly skilled herd of horses (the average cost of a horse today is around $10,000) who we put time into, work with and train to ensure they are as prepared as possible to transport guests into the mountains of Montana. And while they work during both summer season and hunting season, we also care for them during the rest of the year. This includes feed, water, doctoring, training and more. They are an integral part of our family and operation, and we could not do what we do without them. Our horse herd is complemented by our pack mules who haul gear, supplies, groceries and more into our camp at White River.
