North Fork Fly Fishing Trip
Some of the best fishing in the Bob Marshall Wilderness as well as the state of Montana is in White River and the North Fork of the Sun River. The North Fork of the Sun is one of the bigger rivers we fish, with frequent holes and wide river bottom in most places with minimal brush or obstructions. This makes it an excellent river for beginners too. Filled with an abundance of cutthroat, rainbow and grayling. It may also boost a young fisherman’s confidence with frequent hits. For the more advanced fisherman the river narrows upstream from camp a few miles and trees, brush and some high banks make it more of a challenge.
Though we call this a fishing trip it can also be a horseman’s paradise. It has many scenic riding opportunities including Elk Hill, Cabin Creek, Gate Park, Glen Creek as well as a possible overnight trip to the Chinese Wall. Wildlife is always around and we are always hopeful to see deer, elk bear, goats and bighorn sheep. The ride in is around 18 miles, and camp is made up of a nice big cook fly, electric fence corral, and tepee tents to sleep in. This trip can be 4 to 7 days.
